SNEED PLLC is proud to sponsor Access2Success (A2S) during Christmas in Davidson’s annual Giving Tree Village Fundraiser, and we need your votes to help our tree win! Just follow the link or scan the QR code to purchase votes and you can purchase as many votes as you like! Every dollar you purchase for your favorite tree equals a vote! A2S will receive 100% of the funds they earn with your votes and there are opportunities for prize money based for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place as well as Prettiest, Most Festive & Best Use of Theme!
Access2Success provides sustainable programs that generate positive change for Nigerian children and their communities. Children in Nigeria have dreams. But they rarely have hope. A2S provides education, athletic and empowerment programs, and basic human needs – A2S gives access to necessary tools that empower children and give them hope for a future outside of poverty. SNEED PLLC chose to sponsor a tree on behalf of Access2Success because the organization means so much to the firm’s founding member, Jason Sneed, as well as his associate and wife, Megan Sneed. Jason and Megan have been FaithFuel members for several years, attended the Soulful Supper dinner, donated running shoes and now are hoping to provide a little extra end-of-the-year support for this wonderful organization. A2S not only provides for the basic needs and Christian education of Nigerian youth, but it also teaches students entrepreneurship and how to create and grow businesses that impact the Nigerian and world economy. The students appearing on our tree aspire to be everything from surgeons, bankers, rappers, cyclists … and even lawyers. Judge Orders Preliminary Injunction in Favor of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Inc.
February 5, 2016 – Following a hearing in Rapid City, U.S. Chief District Judge Jeffrey Viken ordered a preliminary injunction in favor of SNEED PLLC’s client Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Inc. (SMRi) against both local merchant Rushmore Photo & Gifts and the world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart, for improperly using the trademark “Sturgis” on merchandise they sold. Jury Awards $912,500 to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Inc.
November 12, 2015 – On October 30, an eight-person federal jury unanimously delivered a verdict in favor of SNEED PLLC’s client Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Inc. (SMRI) in its claims that two companies – Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Rushmore Photo and Gifts, Inc. (RPG) – infringed on SMRI’s trademarks and sold counterfeit goods in connection with the annual rally. After a nine-day trial, the jury found Wal-Mart, RPG and its officers liable for infringement of SMRI’s trademarks STURGIS®, STURGIS BIKE WEEK®, STURGIS Composite Design Mark®, STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY™, and STURGIS RALLY AND RACES™, dilution of SMRi’s famous STURGIS mark, in violation of the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act as to seven different Internet domain names and liable for false advertising and unfair competition.
